Daily Reflection with Fr. Tomas Del Valle-Reyes

Dear Friends: Praying is not easy. Our daily routine calls for our full attention. And the world around us puts little value on prayer; our lives are full of material things but at the same time are getting emptier in God’s value.

For this reason, I will post a daily reflection and as you visit this site may the Holy Spirit within you come to your aid and guide you gently to the God who loves you

A Prayer for Deliverance

Heavenly Father,
I desire to help create a new context for human work and wealth, in which all people might prosper, in which all poverty might disappear, in which all of us might achieve as You would have us achieve, and give to others as ou would have us give.
Let the illusions that hold us back, dear God, as individuals and as a society, now disappear. Let me have new energy. Let me have a new sense of purpose. Let me know that I am on this earth to serve.
Let me not feel guilty about the expression of my power.
Let me no longer play small, regardless of other people's reaction to me when I play big.
I am willing to receive an expanded set of options that You, dear God, might work miracles into my life, that You might cast out all negative and limited conditions of this world.
May I receive a future unlike the past, for myself and others.
For I now open my mind to possibilities I have not dreamed of, to forces of life that I have not allowed in, and to realms of joy I have hardly imagined.
I let go.
I release everything that blocks me in this endeavor, from my past, from my present, and from my future.
May I awaken from the dream of my inadequate self.
Amen.

ALMIGHTY FATHER

Almighty Father, we give you thanks for surrounding us, as daylight fades, with the brightness of the vesper light; and we implore you of your great mercy that, as you enfold us with the radiance of this light, so you would shine into our hearts the brightness of your Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Grant us, Lord, the lamp of charity which never fails, that it may burn in us and shed its light on those around us, and that by its brightness we may have a vision of that holy City, where dwells the true and never-failing Light, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.O Lord God Almighty, as you have taught us to call the evening, the morning, and the noonday one day; and have made the sun to know its going down: Dispel the darkness of our hearts, that by your brightness we may know you to be the true God and eternal light, living and reigning for ever and ever. Amen.
Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning, and darkens the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth: The Lord is his name.
Amen.

Little bit of Heaven:

There's a little bit of Heaven
in every child of God,
And every seed of Kindness sown
is sown in fertile sod.
There's a little bit of Heaven
within the Christian heart,
For once the Spirit dwells there,
it becomes a work of art.
There's a little bit of Heaven
in every answered prayer,
Tor once a prayer is answered
you know the Lord is there!

There's a little bit of Heaven
in every hymn we sing,
For when we sing His praises,
it's a many splendored thing.
There's a little bit of Heaven
in every passing day,
For the Father loves His children,
and keeps in touch that way.
