Daily Reflection with Fr. Tomas Del Valle-Reyes

Dear Friends: Praying is not easy. Our daily routine calls for our full attention. And the world around us puts little value on prayer; our lives are full of material things but at the same time are getting emptier in God’s value.

For this reason, I will post a daily reflection and as you visit this site may the Holy Spirit within you come to your aid and guide you gently to the God who loves you

My Wish for You in 2015

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.

After serious and cautious consideration.....your contract of friendship has been renewed for the New Year 2015!

May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.

May love stick to your face like Vaseline and May laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ............

May 2015 be the best year of your life!!!..

God Bless you Always ! ! !

To Dance With Angels

Have you ever seen an angel, or heard an angel sing, Have you ever felt their presence or heard the ruffling of their wings?
Have you ever seen them dance at night when your fast asleep,
Singing out their wonderful song in voices , oh so sweet?
Rejoicing in the heavens for nothing more than life, filling man with peace and love to help relieve his strife..
Some sing and play their harps and others simply dance,
Bringing peace to all men’s hearts and serving them for life.
They come to guide the lost and fill their lonely hearts,
They do not question when or where but simply do their part.
And when they find a lonely heart filled with love from within,
This person might be asked if he would like to join in.
To dance the dance of angels is a joy beyond belief,
And fills the hearts of many with calm and relief.
So if asked to dance with angels open up your heart, and allow these wonderful beings to do their vital part.
So dance the dance of angels let them fill your hearts with light,
Sing their song and rejoice and let them help you ease your plight.

A Christmas Creed

I believe in Jesus Christ and in the beauty of the gospel begun in Bethlehem.

I believe in the one whose spirit glorified a little town; and whose spirit still brings music to persons all over the world, in towns both large and small.

I believe in the one for whom the crowded inn could find no room, and I confess that my heart still sometimes wants to exclude Christ from my life today.

I believe in the one who the rulers of the earth ignored and the proud could never understand; whose life was among common people, whose welcome came from persons of hungry hearts.

I believe in the one who proclaimed the love of God to be invincible:

I believe in the one whose cradle was a mother's arms, whose modest home in Nazareth had love for its only wealth, who looked at persons and made them see what God's love saw in them, who by love brought sinners back to purity, and lifted human weakness up to meet the strength of God.

I confess my ever-lasting need of God: The need of forgiveness for our selfishness and greed, the need of new life for empty souls, the need of love for hearts grown cold.

I believe in God who gives us the best of himself. I believe in Jesus, the son of the living God, born in Bethlehem this night, for me and for the world.

What do you think of Christmas?

Seeing the stores all decorated with Christmas wreaths, and trees plus plenty of holiday catalogs coming thru mail months before Christmas, it makes me think and meditate in the real meaning of Christmas.
Seeing all these, I knew that I had to write something about it, and I have been searching for words but “the right words” or the “key words” to express and describe how I feel are not easy, since I see that Christmas has become a multimillion dollar profit for all stores worldwide.
But before I start typing away my thoughts and ideas, I need to ask myself:
1-"What does the word Jesus Christ mean to you?"
2- "What does Christmas Holiday mean to you?"
3- "How do your Catholic beliefs contribute to your quality of life, your expectations of your life and your life experiences?"

I believe the life of our Lord Jesus Christ was an example for us to follow, remembering, not forgetting his sorrowful ending, but the most important legacy for us Catholics and Christians are his teaching along the way. And that’s how I have learned thru the Holy Gospel:
Follow His mission.- If it is a strong call, it may result in conflict with your earth-family, friends and community but your greater calling will always be to Your Creator, our Heavenly Father. The satisfaction you feel out of acting on your calling will far exceed your discomfort from breaking off on your own.
When you do something that is new to others, you might be seen as a fool or dupe, but follow your heart and spirit. Remembering that Jesus is your guide. Many of us experience loneliness but remember that you are truly never alone.
Heal those that seek healing but know that some people find healing through their experience with physical hardship. Suspend judgment; do not think less of those that choose the "hard way".
Knowing your true connection to our Heavenly Father is wonderful, but does not mean that life will be "easy" or that your knowledge will improve all problems. In fact, knowledge always brings responsibility. Those with greater knowledge have a greater share of responsibility.
Everyone is a child of our Heavenly Father, treat everyone with respect.
Working with friendly people is a joy, but reaching out to those that believe and think differently than you is what it is all about.
I respect other people's beliefs about what the Jesus Christ's life means to them. My experience is that when one focuses on the "negative", the negative seems to be there in full force, ready to be seen and experienced. Those that are fully connected to reality but working through love and compassion will find that life is full of joy and hope. One doesn't want to run away from reality, but one doesn't want to be stuck in unconstructiveness, sorrow and guilt either.
Now to bring things back down to earth a bit, perhaps we can look at the birth of Jesus in a general way. I like to think about his birth and reconnect with his human incarnation, linking it to all of the births that had come before and still are today. How miraculous is the birth of a child. I pray that each child will be looked upon as miracle, a Chris, since we are all a part of the same God.
I encourage you to seek out what your particular religious tradition believes. I would also encourage you to remain or become curious of other beliefs. I know that in doing so; you will find your concept of life expanding and your options with also expand. And never be afraid to allow your view of God to grow and change as you grow and change.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and your family, now and forever, Amen.

For Christ has come

You are in your car driving home.
Thoughts wander to the game you want to see or meal you want to eat, when suddenly a sound unlike any you've ever heard fills the air.
The sound is high above you.
A trumpet? A choir?, A choir of trumpets? You don't know, but you want to know...
So you pull over, get out of your car, and look up. As you do, you see you aren't the only curious one. The roadside has become a parking lot.
Car doors are open, and people are staring at the sky.
Shoppers are racing out of the grocery store...
The Little League baseball game across the street has come to a halt. Players and parents are searching the clouds and what they see, and what you see, has never before been seen.

As if the sky was a curtain, the drapes of the atmosphere part, a brilliant light spills onto the earth. There are no shadows, None!

From every hue ever seen and a million more never seen. Riding on the flow is an endless fleet of angels.
They pass through the curtains one myriad at a time, until they occupy every square inch of the sky.
North, South, East, West....

Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison, and over the sound of the trumpets, you can hear the cherubim and seraphim chanting, Holy, holy, holy...
The final flank of angels is followed by twenty-four silver-bearded elders and a multitude of souls who join the angels in worship.

Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns and there He is... Jesus.

Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figure of Christ the King. He is atop a great stallion, and the stallion is atop a billowing cloud. He opens his mouth, and you are surrounded by his declaration:

I am the Alpha and the Omega.

The angels bow their heads...
The elders remove their crowns...
And before you, is a Figure so consuming that you know, instantly you know: Nothing else matters...
Forget stock markets and school reports.
Sales meetings and football games! Nothing is newsworthy...
All that mattered, matters no more...
For Christ has come.

Facts of Life 2

If you are ill you may say, "I did not want to be sick," if you are poor, "I did not want to be poor," or if you are unloved, "I did not want to be lonely."
Yet for your own reasons you began to believe in illness more than health, in poverty more than abundance, in loneliness rather than affection.
It seems that we are never happy with ourselves.
God created us free and equal but at the same time, He want us to take charge of our lives:
Take responsibility for ALL that is now in your life. Yes, ALL. That does mean that you take responsibility for what would seem to be negative or bad things in your life. Perhaps it would be helpful to list all of the current situations in your life.
Once you have your life's list, evaluate those items that you would like to change.
Even if you feel that a situation is discouraging, take the time to list what you want your life to be. Try to create this list using action words and keeping a positive focus.
Each morning review your list and then go throughout your day knowing that you are creating your reality. Be aware of your personality.
Be truthful with yourself. Refrain from judging either yourself or others.

The Fabric Of Love

A loving heart, a gentle smile, A warm and tender touch.
We give so many things in life, But nothing means as much.
A little inspiration, When someone loses hope.
A kind word of encouragement, When they no longer seem to cope.
A simple phrase - I Love You- When no one else is there.
Taking hold of a hand, In a heart-felt prayer.
Love is never silent, It has so much to say.
And is it our greatest blessing, When we give it away.

A Thief In The House

A horrible thing happened to me today..... a thief broke into my house.
It happened shortly after I awoke this morning.
I got up and began rushing about.
I had a thousand things on my list and was already running behind.
Quickly, I gulped down breakfast, took a shower and
got ready for work.
In my rush, I forgot to turn the security system on at my house.
It was just about a half an hour later that the thief broke in.
Of course, he didn't make a sound.
Just kind of snuck inside, not drawing any attention to himself.
In fact, none of the neighbors ever saw him.
But, I did.
You see, I WAS HOME when the thief broke in.
He naturally startled me, as I was unprepared for his visit.
He, of course, didn't announce that he was coming
and I certainly had not invited him over.
And yet, I found myself face to face with danger and I felt so powerless.
I also felt so very stupid, because this whole incident could have been avoided if I had just taken the time to turn the security system on.
You better believe I'll be turning it on tomorrow morning!
I thought I'd warn you about this guy, because he's still on the loose.
Chances are, he's in your area.
Possibly even headed for your house.
His name? His name is Satan. You see, this morning when I jumped up in my
haste to get started on my busy day, I skipped my prayer time - opting to "pray later today."
In other words, I DIDN'T TURN ON THE SECURITY SYSTEM.
My defense wasn't on, my guard was dropped... ..and when the thief came into my home to attack me, I was unprepared to do battle.
He tempted me and I felt powerless.
Like I said, I also felt so very stupid, because I could have avoided the incident if I had just taken the time to pray.
My friend, the thief has come to "steal, kill and destroy."
And, as a Child of God, you are on his "hit list."
He'll probably pop over to your house today. He may be lurking outside your door right now, just waiting to catch you off guard.
Take time to pray this morning.
Bind Satan from your very presence, to protect you and empower you to do battle. In short... ...don't forget to turn your security system on.

Can I Borrow $25?

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down. 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door . The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boys' questions.
How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life.
We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
From my house to yours 'The light of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us.
The power of God protects us. The presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are God is and all is well.'
**GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.....ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD**

*~Change Me~*

Dear Lord change not Thy will in my life, Or trial and sorrows to be;
renew my faith and make me strong,
Change not Thy will, change me.
Though teardrops fall when trouble comes,
Like storms on a rolling sea;
Let Thy beacon guide my ship to port,
Change not the storm, change me.
When Thy Holy Word I don't understand and
Thy glory I cannot see;
Teach my eyes, give me sight and wisdom,
Change not Thy Word, change me.
If the fruit Thou hast given me to eat, Taste bitter and sour, I plea;
Let not my will but Thy be done, Change not the fruit, change me.
If sometime I murmur and grumble, dear Lord,
about the cross I carry for Thee;
Keep it firm on my shoulders, but hold my hand,
Change not the cross, change me.
If You change Thy ways to please me, dear Lord,
I would soon grow cold and turn from Thee;
That You may hear my prayers, dear Lord,
Change not Thy ways, and change me.
There's a valley that I must cross, Someday Thy face to see; Lest I forget what power is Thane, Change not the valley, change me.

Take time to READ

Read this story to the end...

As I was walking down life's highway
many years ago,
I came upon a sign that read:
Heavens Grocery Store.
When I got a little closer

the doors swung open wide
And when I came to myself
I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.

They were standing everywhere One handed me a basket

and said 'My child shop with care.'Everything a human needed

was in that grocery store

And what you could not carry

you could come back for more"

First I got some Patience.

Love was in that same row.

Further down was Understanding, you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom and Faith a bag or two.

And Charity of course I would need some of that too.
I couldn't miss the Holy Ghost. It was all over the place.

And then some Strength and Courage to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full but I remembered I needed Grace,
And then I chose Salvation for Salvation was for free
I tried to get enough of that to do for you and me.

Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill, For I thought I had everything to do the Masters will. As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and put that in,

For I knew when I stepped outside I would run into sin.
Peace and Joy were plentiful, the last things on the shelf.

Song and Praise were hanging near so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel 'Now how much do I owe?'
He smiled and said 'Just take them everywhere you go.'

Again I asked 'Really now, How much do I owe?'
'My child' he said, 'God paid your bill

a long long time ago.'

This poem has been sent to you with love and for good luck.

TOUCH ME LORD

Touch me, Lord, and let me hear-
The hurt in others' voices,
Touch me, Lord, and help me see
To make the better choices.

Touch me, Lord, whisper to me
That I may face tomorrow.
Touch me, Lord, that I might help
Someone in deepest sorrow.

Touch me, Lord, show me the way,
That I may help all others
Touch me, Lord, to do thy will,
And always love my brothers.

Touch me, Lord, let me live
A life that's worth living.
Touch me, Lord, teach me to praise
And let me be forgiving.

Touch me, Lord, let me obey,
Honor You by how I Live.
Touch me, Lord, please make me whole
Let me, please, be quick to give.

Touch me, Lord, please let me feel,
compassion for all mankind,
Touch me, Lord, let me obey.
Never let this slip my mind.

Touch me, Lord, for You are wise,
Let Your wisdom take control
Touch me Lord, and take away,
All my sins and make me whole.

Your servant, Lord, I would be.
Touch me, Lord, let your spirit,
Always be alive in me.

Touch me, Lord, and draw me near,
And cradle me in Your love.
Touch me, Lord, while I am here,
Lead me to my home above.

Touch me, Lord, that I won’t hurt,
The very ones I love most.
Touch me, Lord, with the power-
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

To loved and to be loved

If I live in a house of spotless beauty with everything in its place, but have not love, I am a housekeeper . . . not a homemaker. If I have time for waxing, polishing, and decorative achievements, but have not love, my children learn of cleanliness . . . not godliness.Love leaves the dust in search of a child's laugh.
Love smiles at the tiny fingerprints on a newly cleaned window.
Love wipes away the tears before it wipes up the spilled milk.
Love picks up the child before it picks up the toys.
Love is present through the trials.
Love reprimands, reproves and is responsive.
Love crawls with the baby, walks with the toddler, runs with the child, then stands aside to let the youth walk into adulthood.
Love is the key that opens salvation's message to a child's heart. Before I became a mother I took glory in my house of perfection. Now I glory in God's perfection of my child. As a mother, there is much I must teach my child . . . but the greatest of all is "LOVE."Author Unknown

11: When you think the world has turned it's back on you, take a
look, you most likely turned your back on the world.

12: When you think you have no chance at getting what you want, you
probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, you
probably sooner or later will get it.
13: Always remember complements you received, forget about the rude remarks.
14: Always tell someone how you feel about them, you will feel much
better when they know.

15: If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that
they are great. Send this letter to people you care about, you'll
brighten up someone's day, and might change their perspective on life,
for the better!

Take away this
Disappointment

Dear God, I pray for my brothers and sisters and others in my circle of family and friends who are struggling with challenges...
When they're disappointed that You haven't answered their prayers or haven't seemed to make any move to change things yet, forgive their impatience.
Help them to live like the prophets of old, who were patient even when they had to suffer, and who didn't quit though they must have felt like it sometimes.
Help these I'm praying for not to quit either. (James 5:10–11a)
Help them to trust You and believe that You care, that You haven't forgotten them—and You won't! When trouble comes their way, when they're facing tests and challenges, help them be willing to thank You in all circumstances, difficult as that is. (Nahum 1:7a; Isaiah 49:15b; 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Ephesians 5:20)
Help them to love You with all their hearts, souls, and minds, for You cause all things to work together for our good when we love You and are called according to Your purpose. Help them realize that somehow You're fitting them into Your plans. Help their love for You to be as steadfast and unchanging as Your love for them. (Matthew 22:37; Romans 8:28, 38–39)May they never question Your love, knowing it was settled once and forever at the cross. (1 John 4:10)
In Jesus' name, amen.

Give Your Life To Jesus

When Jesus comes into your life,
and dwells within your heart,
You'll never be the same again,
and that's the greatest part.
For man is weak and sinful,
and he struggles to survive,
But when Jesus isn't in his life,
he's only just alive.

Material wealth is not enough,
this he'll find is true,
The reason he'll not understand,
and he'll know not what to do.

For happiness and peace of mind,
are elusive as the breeze,
His heart and soul are restless,
like the ever endless seas.

But Jesus is the savior
of man's sick and troubled soul,
And He can take a broken life,
and make it new and whole.

So give your life to Jesus,
let Him cleanse your heart and soul,
And eternal life in heaven
will be your life's new goal.

I have no excuses

I make excuses for the sins that I commit,
But when I'm honest my excuses just don't fit.

If my sins are so little, why did Christ need to die?If they don't matter, why was the penalty so high?
Dear Lord, keep me aware of the price You paid,
How You suffered, bled and died because my sins on You were laid.
Help me to be careful in the things I say or do,To show unto others less of me and more of You.
Help me to serve You gladly because of what You've done for me.
I know my only freedom came when from sin You set me free.
So many years of bondage serving self with me as lord,
Having doubts and fears and worry as my daily reward.
You came and with Your forgiveness came a life of utter joy,
There's peace and love and happiness in being in Your employ.
I beg You to always keep me in the center of Your will,And point out any wrong or sinful things by Your tender voice so still.
I have no excuse for the sinful things I do,
Your Word tells me that and I know Your Word is true.
I thank You for forgiving me and for dying in my place,
I wouldn't stand a chance You see if it wasn't for Your grace.
