Daily Reflection with Fr. Tomas Del Valle-Reyes

Dear Friends: Praying is not easy. Our daily routine calls for our full attention. And the world around us puts little value on prayer; our lives are full of material things but at the same time are getting emptier in God’s value.

For this reason, I will post a daily reflection and as you visit this site may the Holy Spirit within you come to your aid and guide you gently to the God who loves you

Memo From God

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God.

Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help.
So, have a nice day. I love you.
P.S. And, remember...
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box.
I will get to it in MY TIME.
All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful.
There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, thing s could be worse.
You could be one of them! Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you.
You may have touched their life in ways you will never know! Now, you have a nice day. God God has seen you struggling, God says it's over.
A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in God, please send to ten people (including me) please don't ignore this. You are being tested.

ANGELS IN THE ALLEY

Diane, a young Christian university student, was home
for the summer.
She had gone to visit some friends one
evening and the time passed quickly as each shared
their various experiences of the past year.
She ended up staying longer than she had planned
and had to walk home alone.
 But she wasn't afraid because
it was a small town and she lived only
a few blocks away.
As she walked along under Publish Poster the tall elm trees,
Diane asked "God" to keep her safe from harm and danger.
When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to
her house, she decided to take it.
However, halfway
down the alley she noticed a man standing at the
end as though he was waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for
"God's" protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and
security wrapped around her, she felt as though
someone was walking with her.
 When she reached the
end of the alley, she walked right past the man
and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the paper that a young
girl had been raped in the same alley, just twenty
minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it
could have been her, she began to weep.
 Thanking the Lord
for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go
to the police station.
She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her
story.
The police asked her if she would be willing to look
at a lineup to see if she could identify him.
She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the
alley the night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he
immediately broke down and confessed.
The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was
anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question.
Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him, he answered,
"Because she wasn't alone.
She had two tall men
walking on either side of her."
Don't underestimate the power of Prayer.
As I walk God walks with me!
~3 nails + 1 cross = 4given~

Wings of Prayer

Just close your eyes and open your heart...
Feel your worry and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above...
Let Him hold you secure in His love.
For life on earth grows more involved...
With endless problems that we can't solve.
But, God only asked us to do our best...
Then He will take care of and finish the rest.

So when you're tired, discouraged, and feeling blue...
There is always a door open for you,

That is the door to the house of prayer...
You'll always find God waiting to meet you there.

The house of prayer is no further away...
Than the quiet place where you kneel to pray.

For the heart is a temple when God is there...
When we place ourselves in His loving care.

He hears every prayer and answers each one...
When we pray in His name~~Thy will be done.

The burdens that seemed too heavy to bare...
Are lifted away on the Wings of Prayer.

TO KNOW GOD IS ULTIMATE WISDOM

! A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.
A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.
It depends whose hands it's in.
A baseball in
my hands is worth about $6.

A baseball in Roger Clemens' hands is worth $475 million.
It depends on whose hands it's in.

A tennis racket is useless in my hands.
A tennis racket in Andre Agassi's hands is worth millions.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A rod in my hands will keep away an angry dog.
A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.
It depends whose hands it's in.

A slingshot in my hands is a kid's toy.
A slingshot in David's hand is a mighty weapon.
It depends whose hands it's in.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in Jesus' hands will feed thousands.
It depends whose hands it's in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.

Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will
Produce salvation for the entire world
.
It depends whose hands it's in.
As you see now, it depends whose hands it's in.
So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because...
It depends whose hands it's in.

Is God Alarmed??

God isn't alarmed
when we hit rock bottom. ?

He made the rock.

There are times in our lives
when we feel there is no way
up or out.?

Poverty. Confusion.
Loneliness. Desperation.
They take us to the place
called "rock bottom."

In these times
you may feel weak
and vulnerable,
and it is easy to lose faith
in your ability to go on.
It is exactly in these times
that you must turn
to the infinite power
within yourself.
You must know that
the answer is exactly
where you are.
The strength you need,
the answer you want,
the solution that
will turn the situation around
is you.

If you can put aside
the anger,
fear, weakness,
and desperation
for just a minute
you will remember
the "other times"
you were at the bottom
and how in a moment,
miraculously, you were lifted up.

There is no spot
where God is not.

That's a good thing to remember
when you hit rock bottom!

The World is Mine

The World is Mine Today, upon a bus,
I saw a very beautiful woman.
And wished I were as beautiful.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, she passed a smile.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs; the world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind. It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes; the world is mine.
Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child I knew.
He stood and watched the others play, but he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said, "Why don't you join them dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
I forgot, he couldn't hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have two ears; the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

When I Say I'm A Christian

When I say... :"I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting: "I'm clean living.'"
I'm whispering: "I was lost, now I'm found and forgiven."
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success I'm
admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches so I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!
Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
