Daily Reflection with Fr. Tomas Del Valle-Reyes

Dear Friends: Praying is not easy. Our daily routine calls for our full attention. And the world around us puts little value on prayer; our lives are full of material things but at the same time are getting emptier in God’s value.

For this reason, I will post a daily reflection and as you visit this site may the Holy Spirit within you come to your aid and guide you gently to the God who loves you

Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time there was a bunch
of tiny frogs.... who arranged a
running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a
very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around
the tower to see the race and cheer
on the contestants....
The race began....
Honestly:
No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the
top of the tower.
You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!!""They will NEVER make it to the top."
or:
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"The tiny frogs began collapsing. One
by one....

Except for those, who in a fresh
tempo, were climbing higher and
higher..
The crowd continued to yell, "It is
too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave
up....But ONE continued higher and higher
and higher....
This one wouldn't give up!At the end everyone else had given
up climbing the tower. Except for
the one tiny frog who, after a big

effort, was the only one who
reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs
naturally wanted to know how this
one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog
how he had found the strength to
succeed and reach the goal?
It turned out....
That the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's
tendencies to be negative or pessimistic....because
they take your most wonderful
dreams and wishes away from
you -- the ones you have in your
heart!
Always think of the power words
have. (There's life and death in
the power of the tongue - Proverbs
18:21.)
Because everything you hear and
read will affect your actions!

Therefore: ALWAYS be.... POSITIVE!
And above all:Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your
dreams!
Always think:

God and I can do this!

This is how I am..

I cannot change the way I am, I never really try,
God made me different and unique, I never ask him why.
If I appear peculiar,
There's nothing I can do,
You must accept me as I am,
As I've accepted you.
God made a casting of each life,
Then threw the old away,
Each child is different from the rest,
Unlike as night from day.
So often we will criticize,
The things that others do,
But, do you know, they do not think,
The same as me and you.
So God in all his wisdom, Who knows us all by name,
He didn't want us to be bored, That's why we're not the same.

It Only Takes A Minute

It only takes a minute to make a difference in the world.
It only takes a minute to calm a fear.
It only takes a minute to make a child feel loved.
It only takes minute to hold a hand and make the pain go away.
It only takes a minute to say,
“I’m sorry” and prevent a lifetime of regret.
It only takes a minute to stoop down to see
the world through the
eyes of a child and in doing so
change how they see you.
It only takes a minute to dial the phone and say,
“I just called to say “I love you!”
It only takes a minute to stop what you are doing
and really listen to what someone is saying.
It only takes a minute to smile and get one in return.
It only takes a minute to forgive.
It only takes a minute to ask to be forgiven.
It only takes a minute to send an email to all the people in
your address book and say,
"I just wanted to take a minute
to tell you how incredible you are.
I am blessed to have you in my life."
It only takes a minute to say a prayer.
It only takes a minute to say,
“Thank you, God” but a lifetime
to list all the reasons.
